cheers to mothers everywhere.
perhaps you're in need of a quick, delicious and very pretty cocktail for mother's day brunch, or a pre-dinner apéritif? i thought i'd share one of my favorite easy, go-to cocktails - prosecco with a splash of st. germaine and fresh raspberries. it helps if you have some pretty glasses to start (more on that topic was covered in this morning's post on vintage colored glassware). these sexy glasses are champagne coupes from kiss that frog. did you know urban legend has it that the shape of the coupe was modeled on the breast of Marie Antoinette? that's what they say - but i digress, as per usual.
you might like to start with some pretty cocktail napkins like these meri meri toot sweet ombre napkins with scalloped edges and a little bit of sparkle. i got these at shout & about in echo park, but you can find them online at meri meri. and lastly, you may need some great-looking coasters - these brass beauties are from schoolhouse electric, simple and super stylish! oh, and lastly, can't forget the recipe! i like lamarca italian prosecco - not only is the bottle pretty but it's nice and dry and not too sweet. you simply mix 4 ounces of prosecco and 1-1/2 ounces of st. germaine (which has to be the most beautiful elderflower liqueur bottle out there) and add a few raspberries (or, if you prefer strawberries or a sprig of lavender) for color and a dash of fizz and you're ready to sip a toast to mums everywhere.

Homegoods is now open in Milwaukee…

Sorry for the unexpected pause and absense in my blogging. I'm still debating on sharing what happened a few months ago in regards to one of my blog posts. Until then, let me share some captures from the new Homegoods store that is located in the Mayfair Collection in Wauwatosa, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am that they are here. We have Marshalls which has a huge Homegoods section. However, you cannot match having a whole store dedicated to home decor…

No longer will I have to travel to North Chicago's for clients or myself. The opening day was so packed, I only stayed 10 mins. I waited 3 weeks to go again and it was a much easier crowd to deal with. The wood floors in the store are beautiful. Here are some things I saw and liked….

even though i really like working from home, i love having the luxury of the studio space i share in downtown L.A. - it's just such a creative escape from the norm, and can often inspire me just seeing what the other creatives there are up to. these spaces are something special, and i hope they inspire you a little. if you'd like more studio space inspiration, check out sites like freunde von freuden, in the make, and the studio work. you might also view our past studio tours, and check out my pinboards working girl and studio spaces. enjoy the tour!
