cheers to mothers everywhere.

perhaps you're in need of a quick, delicious and very pretty cocktail for mother's day brunch, or a pre-dinner apéritif? i thought i'd share one of my favorite easy, go-to cocktails - prosecco with a splash of st. germaine and fresh raspberries. it helps if you have some pretty glasses to start (more on that topic was covered in this morning's post on vintage colored glassware). these sexy glasses are champagne coupes from kiss that frog. did you know urban legend has it that the shape of the coupe was modeled on the breast of Marie Antoinette? that's what they say - but i digress, as per usual.

you might like to start with some pretty cocktail napkins like these meri meri toot sweet ombre napkins with scalloped edges and a little bit of sparkle. i got these at shout & about in echo park, but you can find them online at meri meri. and lastly, you may need some great-looking coasters - these brass beauties are from schoolhouse electric, simple and super stylish! oh, and lastly, can't forget the recipe! i like lamarca italian prosecco - not only is the bottle pretty but it's nice and dry and not too sweet. you simply mix 4 ounces of prosecco and 1-1/2 ounces of st. germaine (which has to be the most beautiful elderflower liqueur bottle out there) and add a few raspberries (or, if you prefer strawberries or a sprig of lavender) for color and a dash of fizz and you're ready to sip a toast to mums everywhere.
