Eat. Cook. Farm. Gather. Shop. All the incredible experiences you'll find at Healdsburg Shed in Sonoma's wine region. This is the top spot to visit when you're in the area. Located in the heart of downtown Healdsburg, it is a market, cafe and community space designed to bring us closer to the way we grow, prepare and share our food.
Opened in April 2013, Shed owners Cindy Daniel and Doug Lipton envisioned a space that embraced their passion for farming, the true taste of real food, and the pleasure that can be had from serving others. And they did just that in the most beautiful way. There is so much bounty to be found in the space (it's hard not to get excited and overwhelmed), but they've cleverly designed sections to help you navigate. In fact they won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant Design in 2014.
Upon entering Shed you'll first see the Coffee Bar. Here you can order espresso drinks, pour over coffee, natural juices and a variety of house-made pastries, sandwiches and homemade ice cream.
The Eat section is full of locally grown, farm fresh flowers and produce, as well as a great variety of pantry essentials and artisan foods.
The Cafe section includes tables and a bar for sit-down meals. There is plenty of outdoor seating in the front and back of Shed, too.
The Cook area has a beautiful selection of housewares, including cooking and serving pieces, kitchen tools, linens and cookbooks.
At the heart and center is the larder. This is where all the Shed meals are prepared, both for in-house dining or packaged to-go.
The Farm section in the back is where you can pick up tools, supplies and books to help with your home gardening needs.
Head up the stairs and you'll find the Grange where events are hosted throughout the year. These include special meals, cooking demos and workshops, film screenings and discussions around food. Check out their lineup of upcoming events.
Shed is open Wednesday through Monday from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm and is closed on Tuesdays. They serve breakfast, lunch, evening meals and weekend brunch. You can walk-in or make a reservation on open table.
